Centuries from Jacques Kallis and AB de Villiers ensured South Africa retrieved some pride in the third and final one-day international against India.
Having already lost the first two matches in the series, the Proteas had a point to prove in Ahmedabad and skipper Kallis led the way as his side clinched a 90-run win.
After the recalled Loots Bosman (68) and Hashim Amla (87) had put on a breezy 113 for the opening stand after Kallis had won the toss, the captain added 79 with Amla and 173 with de Villiers as his side racked up 365 for two.
In reply, several Indian batsmen got starts including Virat Kohli (57), Rohit Sharma (48) and Suresh Raina (49), but they were reined in by the South African bowlers and were all out for 275
